Privacy Policy

This policy applies to the phoenixfence.ca website and the forms, chat widget, maps and payment link it provides. It does not cover information you give us in person, by phone or by email outside the website, or the websites of other companies we link to, which have their own privacy policies.

Estimate requests. When you submit the Home Estimate or Business Estimate form we collect the information you enter: your name, company (if any), street address, city and postal code, phone, cell and fax numbers, email address, site address and site contact details, and the project information you describe (fence length, height, style, service level, urgency, safety requirements and additional notes).

Uploaded files. Photos, drawings, maps or other documents you attach to an estimate form are received with the form and may contain personal information such as images of your property.

Chat widget. The website uses a third-party chat widget. Messages you type into it, and any name or contact details you provide there, are collected so we can answer you.

Technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested and the time of the request) to keep the site running and secure. The website does not use advertising cookies. A small browser setting may be stored on your device to remember that you dismissed an announcement.

• To prepare, deliver and follow up on the estimate you requested, including contacting you by phone or email about your project.
• To route your request to the right Phoenix Fence team (residential, commercial and industrial, or wholesale) at the Edmonton or Calgary office.
• To answer questions asked through the chat widget or by email.
• To operate, secure and improve the website.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for purposes unrelated to the request you made without asking you first.

The following services process information on our behalf or receive it directly from your browser:

• Form delivery. Estimate forms and their attachments are transmitted to our email through a form delivery service and are then stored in our office email and estimating systems.
• Chat widget. The chat service provider stores conversations on its own systems so we can read and reply to them.
• Google Maps. Office location maps are embedded from Google. Loading a map sends your IP address and browser information to Google under Google’s privacy policy.
• Payments. The Make a Payment link opens a hosted BluePay payment page. Card details are entered on and processed by BluePay; Phoenix Fence does not receive or store your card number through this website.
• Hosting. The website is served from a hosting provider’s global network, which keeps server logs as described above.

Some of these providers operate outside Canada, so information may be stored or processed in other countries and be subject to the laws of those countries.

Estimate requests and attachments are kept for as long as needed to quote, complete and warranty the work, and to meet our accounting and legal record-keeping obligations. Chat conversations are kept for as long as the chat provider retains them and we need them to answer you. Server logs are kept for a limited period for security and troubleshooting.

The website is served over HTTPS. Access to submitted information is limited to Phoenix Fence staff who need it to respond to you.

• You can request an estimate by phone instead of using the online forms.
• You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it.
• You can ask us to stop contacting you about a request at any time.

To make any of these requests, contact us using the details below. We will respond within the time allowed by law and may need to verify your identity first.
